Sadly we saw the couple multiple times that day - once at the pool (they only stayed briefly) and also outside of our room when we went to take a sunset picture. My husband and I were staying at the hotel at the same time. Since the room was costing $1800 per night, I asked for a discount because my last two days and a night were horrible, and they credited me the burrito I ate which I technically didn't eat. I had the breakfast burrito, and within an hour or two it was going to the bathroom and throwing up for the next 12 hours. NOTE: They tell you its ok to drink the water, but its not. The concept is intriguing, but falls short in almost every way. It underwhelms from the beginning you enter the big wooden door. He reports being ill for two days and a night, with vomiting/diarrhea for 12 hours. Reviewer posted on 6/12, just a few days prior to the American couple's passing, but looks like the stay was in May. What is interesting, is of two recent poor TA reviews, one reviewer notes that he thought he experienced food poisoning- experienced vomiting and diarrhea. At the Bahamas Sandals CO poisoning in 2022, of the two couples poisoned, it seems one couple sought medical treatment prior to their passing. Returns to accommodation and doesn't survive the subsequent CO poisoning. Guest goes to the hospital/medical facility and gets treatment for what could be food poisoning, flu, etc and feels better-ish.
